For many years now, my domain and email have been hosted by a third-party vendor and, overall, it’s worked out pretty well. However, the one major thorn in my side was relying on their IMAP for e-mail and, more specifically, SpamAssassin for spam filtering – it’s a nuisance to configure and maintain and it’s never done a particularly good job.
So I finally decided to bite the bullet and move to a G Suite Business account, primarily to move my e-mail there and take advantage of the spam filtering.
At the same time, I’ve had a free Google account for years and, although I don’t use the e-mail account associated with it, I use a number of other Google services associated with it.
So join me in an adventure as I figure out the best way to move as much of my data as possible from the free account to the Business one…
